Acupuncture [FAQ]
Traditional acupuncture is a gentle yet powerful medicine which has been proven effective over the course of thousands of years. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Institutes for Health (NIH) endorse acupuncture as beneficial for many conditions. This highly effective and safe treatment is a primary health care modality for over one third of the world’s population. It activates the natural healing properties inherent in each individual. It strengthens the immune system and treats the root causes of disease and illness. Those who receive ongoing treatment have reported an improved sense of vitality and stamina. They get sick less often and experience a deeper sense of peace and well being which shows up in all areas of life.
Even though acupuncture is an ancient tradition of healing, it addresses many manifestations of illness in our modern society and can be used in conjunction with western medicine. Well known for its use in easing pain, acupuncture is beneficial for a wide range of diseases throughout the body. Many chronic illnesses and acute conditions such as headaches, chronic fatigue, depression, allergies, back pain, digestive disorders, joint pain, sleeping problems, infertility, menstrual disorders and other symptoms can be alleviated through treatment.
Tui Na- Chinese Acupressure [FAQ]
Tui Na is a form of Chinese manipulative therapy often used in conjunction with acupuncture. It uses traction and massage along with the stimulation of acupuncture points to treat both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Tui Na’s massage-like techniques range from light stroking to deep-tissue work. It removes blockages along the energetic meridians of the body to stimulate the flow of vital energy and blood. This relaxing treatment has been found to improve overall health and reduce stress. It is an excellent alternative for those who are not in regular acupuncture treatment.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture[FAQ]
This treatment is a safe, painless and effective treatment for renewing the face as well as the whole body. Fine lines may be entirely erased, deeper lines reduced, and bags around neck and eyes firmed. Fine needles are placed at a variety of acupuncture points on the face, neck and around the eyes to stimulate the body’s natural energies or Qi. The face lifts itself through the toning and tightening action of the muscles which are stimulated through the acupuncture points. The needles also stimulate blood and circulation which improves facial color. This painless, non-surgical “face lift” can erase many years from your face.

Doula Services
A support person in the labor and delivery room can add to an optimal birth experience. The word doula means “servant” in Greek. Our doulas offer suggestions, do massage and acupuncture for pain relief and offer continuous support for both parents-to-be. Should a couple consider a medical intervention during the birth of their child, the doula gives them the information they need to make an informed decision. She also helps communicate with the hospital staff the intentions and desires expressed in a birth plan and makes sure they are implemented. The doula will not make any decisions for a couple; she will completely support whatever is chosen to reach the safe and healthy delivery of a new baby.
